Silent Pool to debut rye vodka and gin mist sprays

Surrey-based Silent Pool Distillers is set to launch an English rye vodka and three gin mist sprays for the holiday season.

The mist sprays have been created to add a “extra dimension” to a classic Martini or a gin and tonic during the holiday season

Silent Pool Wry English Vodka is made using water from the Silent Pool – a spring-fed lake at the foot of the North Downs in Surrey – and is a 100% rye grain spirit at an abv of 40%.

The organic rye is supplied by Warminster Maltings, the ‘oldest’ working malthouse in the UK and then filtered through hardwood charcoal and fired in a traditional circular kiln.

Filtering the spirit through charcoal is said to “remove impurities whilst ensuring an exceptionally smooth taste with just a subtle hint of rye spice.”

Master distiller, Cory Mason, wanted the vodka to have the “style of rye, but with a new twist.”

Silent Pool is also set to launch three gin mist sprays in October including a Christmas edition, bergamot orange and kaffir lime. The mist sprays have been created to add a “extra dimension” to a classic Martini or a gin and tonic during the holiday season.

Silent Pool Mist Christmas Edition is distilled with flavours of “traditional mulling spices, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg infused with hints of Christmas tree.”

Silent Pool Mist Bergamot Orange is said to have a “rich and sophisticated citrusy scent”, while Silent Pool Mist Kaffir Lime brings a “refreshing crispy zing”.

The mist sprays are made by immersing the peel in spirit with a hint of angelica and orris root, before extracting the oils and blending it with chamomile and rose tea.
