Game of Thrones actor launches Icelandic vodka
Game of Thrones actor and professional strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has launched his own brand of Icelandic vodka.
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has launched Icelandic Mountain VodkaKnown for his role as Ser Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones, Björnsson is spokesperson for and co-owner of Icelandic Mountain Vodka.
Released under the Icelandic Spirits Collection, the vodka is seven times distilled and made with pure Icelandic water. It is also labelled gluten-free and bottled at 40% abv.
Icelandic Spirits Collection intends to launch a gin, rum and shots range, each inspired by mythological creatures, namely the dragon, eagle and bull.
A number of drinks brands have launched in honour of Game of Thrones on recent years.
In 2014, an Australian advertising agency launched Wines of Westeros – a series of reds and whites linked to the show’s fictional feuding clans. Meanwhile, in 2015, plans were revealed to launch a Game of Thrones beer.
