Buffalo Trace hosts screenings at Edinburgh Fest

Sazerac-owned Buffalo Trace is to bring a ‘Wild West’ vibe to the Edinburgh Festival with a series of interactive film screenings at The High Noon Theatre & Saloon.

Buffalo Trace is hosting a number of interactive film screenings during the Edinburgh Festival

Held at the Lucky Liquor bar on Queen Street, the initiative features actors in full western gear. At key points during screenings they will interact with the films including in the saloon scenes integral to the genre.

At these points, the audience – all encouraged to attend in costume – will be served Buffalo Trace cocktails.

Screening will include classic westerns The Magnificent Seven and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, cult comedy Blazing Saddles, and acclaimed Quentin Tarantino film The Hateful Eight.

After each screening, the western-theme continues with saloon-style service in the bar afterwards.

“The High Noon festival celebrates the Buffalo Trace Distillery’s roots in the pioneer days of the west in a way that will engage and entertain visitors to the Edinburgh Festival,” said Tim Giles, Buffalo Trace UK brand manager.

“The team at Lucky Liquor are working on a range of Buffalo Trace cocktails that reflect the drinks being served in the films – so if Sarsaparilla is being served on screen, we’ll hand out a Sarsaparilla cocktail. There will also be some barrel-aged cocktails, as well as some of the limited edition top-end bourbons from Buffalo Trace including the Antique Collection.”

Buffalo Trace’s High Noon Theatre & Saloon will take place from 8-14 August. Tickets are available for £15, which includes two cocktails, Bourbon samples and popcorn during a screening.

Another spirit brand getting into the Edinburgh Festival season is Edinburgh Gin, which is set to host a number of pop-ups throughout the city.
