Speakeasy bar Barts has created what is believed to be London’s first cocktail menu that uses ingredients “scientifically proven” to boost a drinker’s mood.

Barts has created a cocktail menu with “mood enhancing” ingredients

Created by the Barts bar team, the new ‘Mood Menu’ features three cocktails that “enhance happiness, facilitate focus and encourage relaxation”.

“The Mood Menu at Barts is packed with serotonin-rich ingredients that will help regulate neurotransmitters and hormone activity in the body that will keep energy levels up and the mood and mind happy,” the bar said.

Barts’ Happiness cocktail, said to increase endorphin levels, is made with strawberries, lemon, cherry tomatoes, maraschino cherries, sugar, basil leaves, pepper and Belvedere Vodka.

The Relax cocktail, described as rich in calcium and magnesium to alleviate stress, contains Barts’ camomile elixir, lavender extract, lemon guise, cardamom and Zafferan Tanqueray.

A “stimulating, alert-boosting cocktail”, Focus (pictured) is made with smoked wheat coffee beans, Kamm & Sons blend of herbs, spices, fruits, berries, leaves and flowers, hazelnut syrup and BoB bitters.
