BenRiach launches first cask strength release

Single malt Scotch whisky distillery BenRiach has released its first expression in a planned Cask Strength series.

BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1 is the first in a planned series of cask strength releases from the distillery

The whisky chosen for Batch 1 is described as “classic” BenRiach in style, with a “voluptuous sweet taste of honey, soft fruits and gentle spices”.

Bottled at a cask strength of 57.2% abv, the batch is non-chill-filtered and released at its natural colour.

The BenRiach Distillery Company has introduced the BenRiach range following the success of its GlenDronach Cask Strength expressions.

“Cask Strength Batch 1 is another momentous and exciting “first” for the BenRiach distillery, said Alistair Walker, sales director.

“This stunning Speyside whisky, with all its classic BenRiach characteristics, is the first Cask Strength expression to be added to our core range, allowing us to showcase the true BenRiach style in its most natural state – straight from the cask to the bottle, non-chill filtered and at its natural colour, allowing the distillery’s unique spirit to shine through.

“It is an incredibly fine dram and I am confident it will prove as successful as our wonderful GlenDronach batches.”

The BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1 will be available specialist whisky retailers soon, with a UK RRP of £55.99.

Last year, The BenRiach Distillery Company reported “record” annual profits and announced a £25 million investment into the company.
