Bar to open in Battersea Power Station
By Amy HopkinsBar and restaurant chain Darwin & Wallace has revealed plans to open a new venue on the site of iconic London landmark Battersea Power Station, which is currently under development.
Battersea Power Station will include a new bar from Darwin & Wallace as part of its phase one redevelopmentSet to open in early 2017, the venue, called No29, is described as a “modern interpretation of a neighbourhood pub”.
It is part of the phase one redevelopment of Battersea Power Station and will be situated in an area called Circus West. No29 will be the only pub in the area, joining a number of retail outlets and shops.
“We are all incredibly excited to be a part of Battersea Power Station’s regeneration development and the growing community within it,” said Mel Marriot, managing director of Darwin & Wallace.
“Together with our team of artisans and carefully selected suppliers, we are looking forward to seeing our vision of a modern twenty first century pub, complete with unique design, food and drink paired with the spirit of Battersea come to life in No29.”
The bar will also serve locally sourced food and will feature a design inspired by Battersea Power Station.
Founded by Marriott with investment from The Imbiba Partnership, Darwin & Wallace is a collection of bars situated in “quintessential London villages”. The group has opened London venues in Belgravia, Clapham and Richmond since launching in 2012, with a fourth bar in Chiswick set to open next month.
