Jack Daniel’s creates branded vintage motorcycle
By Amy HopkinsJack Daniel’s has teamed up with Indian Motorcycle to create a limited edition motorbike as part of the whiskey brand’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
The 2016 Collector’s Edition Jack Daniel’s Indian Chief Vintage celebrates Jack Daniel’s 150th anniversaryThe 2016 Collector’s Edition Jack Daniel’s Indian Chief Vintage will be on display from 23-31 January at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction and will make a “series of appearances” throughout 2016.
The bike will then go under the hammer at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Las Vegas, which takes place on 6-8 October.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Jack Daniel’s and the Armed Services YMCA’s ‘Operation Ride Home’, which provides funding and travel assistance to help junior-enlisted military personnel spend time with their families during the holiday season.
The bike will be produced in “very limited quantities” and is based on the classic Indian Chief Vintage design, with the addition to Jack Daniel’s-inspired custom paint and logos, badging, leather saddle and saddlebags.
It is also inscribed with the signatures of Jack Daniel’s seven master distillers, who have overseen operations at the Lynchburg distillery since 1866.
“This one-of-a-kind motorcycle is the perfect pairing of these two classic American brands, and while they look great together, we’ve inscribed this unique collector’s edition masterpiece with our ‘Bottles and Throttles Don’t Mix’ mantra to remind all our friends that drinking and riding are meant to be enjoyed separately,” said Dave Stang, director of events and sponsorships for Jack Daniel’s.
“We’d like to thank our friends at Indian Motorcycle for their help on this project and their support for Operation Ride Home.”
Earlier this month, Jack Daniel’s revealed it had lined up a series of events and activities to celebrate its 150th anniversary this year, including a renovation of its distillery facilities and the release of special edition bottles.
