Heaven Hill plans $15.5m distillery expansion

Evan Williams Bourbon producer Heaven Hill Brands has confirmed it is planning a US$15.5 million expansion at Bernheim Distillery in Louisville.

Heaven Hill Brands is planning a US$15.5m distillery expansion – it’s third since 1999

Details of the expansion were submitted by Heaven Hill Brands to the Louisville Metro Government on Tuesday.

The plans include building an additional 4,600 square foot space to one of the buildings at the distillery.

This will house a new beer well, three new fermenters and a new still.

Building is expected to start within the next few months and will be carried out by Louisville-based Abel Construction Company.

Heaven Hill has already undergone two distillery expansions since it bought the site in 1999.

In 2012, the company announced plans to build a new multi-million dollar distillery and tourist attraction in Louisville to cater for growing demand for the region’s Bourbon.

In September 2015, Heaven Hill completed its acquisition of Deep Eddy Vodka, which released a new Peach variant earlier this month.
