Heaven Hill completes Deep Eddy takeover

Heaven Hill Brands has completed the acquisition of Deep Eddy Vodka, setting in motion its plan to make the brand the best-selling super-premium domestic vodka in America.

Deep Eddy is now under the control of Heaven Hill Brands

The independent, family-owned company has now fully taken control of Deep Eddy, after first announcing the deal in August this year.

Heaven Hill now purchased Deep Eddy Vodka and its distillery from Eliza Spring for an undisclosed sum.

The news came just three months after Texas-based Deep Eddy said it had “no plans to sell at this time” amid buyout rumours.

“Today starts us on the course to becoming the number one super-premium American vodka in the US,” said Max L. Shapira, president of Heaven Hill Brands.

“Our family is proud to carry on the culture, energy and excitement of Deep Eddy Vodka. Austin will continue to be core to the brand as the home base for Eric Dopkins and his entire team and the foundation of Deep Eddy Vodka’s culture and heritage.”

Deep Eddy will continue to operate independently, while CEO Dopkins will remain at the company as president.

The brand has experienced rapid growth since its launch in 2011 with sales of more than 500,000 cases today. Since the launch of its Ruby Red expression in 2013, Deep Eddy has increased sales by 300%.
