Master of Malt launches DIY cocktail ageing kits

Master of Malt has launched a series of DIY cocktail and gin ageing kitsThe online retailer has launched the Mature Your Own Cocktail Kit for three different types of aged cocktails: Manhattan, Negroni and Martinez.
All kits come with a one-litre freshly toasted American white oak barrel of medium to heavy char and two 50cl bottles of the Handmade Cocktail Company’s Manhattan, Negroni or Martinez.
The range also now includes a Make Your Own Gin Kit, which also includes an American oak cask and two bottles of English gin.
Users are advised to leave their gin or cocktails for “a few days or weeks” in the barrels, which can be reused about two more times. Prices for the kits range from £94.95 to £122.95.
Last November, two friends sought raise US$10,000 of funding on Kickstarter to launch their Age it Yourself at-home whiskey ageing business.
Meanwhile, William Grant & Sons partnered with Shaken Cocktails to release two home cocktail kits featuring Monkey Shoulder whisky and Hendrick’s gin earlier this month.
