Grey Goose family joins America’s richest list

The Frank family, who made their millions from Grey Goose vodka, have been named as the newest billionaire spirits clan to join the list of America’s richest families.

The Frank family boasts a net worth of US$1.5 billion

According to the 2015 Forbes Richest Families list, the Frank family boasts a net worth of US$1.5 billion, owed to deceased alcohol marketing expert Sidney Frank’s decision to sell Grey Goose vodka to Bacardi for US$2.3 billion in 2004.

Their wealth is also attributed to the success of German liqueur Jägermeister – which recently acquired its US importer, the Sidney Frank Importing Company, for an undisclosed sum.

The family comes in at number 163 out of 193 families who made the list.

The Brown family, of spirits producer Brown-Forman, were last year named as America’s wealthiest spirits billionaires in the US Forbes Richest Families list, but have this year dropped down to 20th place.

Owners of Wirtz Beverage Illinois, The Wirtz family, were also listed as one of America’s richest families, and came in 67th place with a fortune worth approximately US$4.4 billion.
