Another one of Bacardi’s brands, but with a very different story from Dewar’s in 2014, is William Lawson’s, which grew volume sales by an impressive 11% in the year. Almost doubling sales since 2010, the brand has usurped the number six position from The Famous Grouse, since Edrington declined to reveal the brand’s 2014 case sales. Made with a high malt content, the blend was first produced by William Lawson in 1849.

Ballantines? William Peel? William Lawson’s? These brands aren’t even heard of let alone drank in Scotland. So much for authenticity.

  2. James Weir says:

never heard of william peel and i’ve been born and bred in scotland.

  3. Noel Moitra says:

Lawson’s 13 YO and Ballantines 17/25 YO are excellent blends. I am surprised at William Peel’s continued stay in the top 10-I’m not overly impressed by it. Moreover, I expected Grant’s 9 YO peated blend to climb the bandwagon.

  4. Juan San Claro says:

But Scotland as a country gets nothing from these whiskies!
