Dropping one position to 8th on this list is Bacardi’s “Drink Man’s Scotch” Dewar’s. Recording its lowest volume sales in at least 5 years, the brand saw a hefty 10% decline in 2014. Despite an image makeover and a number of limited edition launches, Dewar’s struggled to stay ahead of the competition, at the same time as Bacardi revealed its “unprecedented” moves into the single malt category.

Ballantines? William Peel? William Lawson’s? These brands aren’t even heard of let alone drank in Scotland. So much for authenticity.

  2. James Weir says:

never heard of william peel and i’ve been born and bred in scotland.

  3. Noel Moitra says:

Lawson’s 13 YO and Ballantines 17/25 YO are excellent blends. I am surprised at William Peel’s continued stay in the top 10-I’m not overly impressed by it. Moreover, I expected Grant’s 9 YO peated blend to climb the bandwagon.

But Scotland as a country gets nothing from these whiskies!
