Sipsmith creates gin and tonic ice cream

With summer on its way, Sipsmith gin has partnered with family-owned ice cream firm Jude’s to create a limited edition summer offering – Jude’s Sipsmith Gin and Tonic Ice Cream.

Using Sipsmith London Dry gin, the two companies have combined their crafts to create the new “delectable” ice cream flavour.

“This is all about celebrating where summer meets gin,” said Sam Galsworthy, Sipsmith co-founder. “Our collaboration with Jude’s is the perfect marriage of two great British summertime institutions; ice cream and the Gin and Tonic.

“We’re big fans of Jude’s. Both our London distillery and their dairy champion crafting timeless classics of quality and substance, which are made to be savoured.”

The ice cream will come in 120ml tubs decorated with Sipsmith’s signature green and white stripes, and will feature at numerous events throughout the UK this summer including Port Eliot, Taste Festival and Open Square Gardens.

“We are constantly on the look out for new sources of inspiration and this one came in a clinking flass,” commented Theo Mezger, founder of Jude’s. “Partnering with the team at the Sipsmith Distillery has challenged us to do something a little bit different, which we hope will go down well with lovers of Sipsmith and Jude’s alike.”

Jude’s Sipsmith Gin and Tonic Ice Cream will be available in 120ml pots with an RRP of £2.95 in Selfridges from 20 May and through Ocado from 1 June.

Last year, three UK companies created what they claimed was the “world’s first” sloe gin truffle ice cream.
