Freddie Mercury vodka launches in the UK

A vodka brand launched in memory of Freddie Mercury, the late frontman of rock band Queen, has launched in the UK through supermarket Asda.

Killer Queen vodka is now available in Asda stores across the UK

Killer Queen Vodka was first unveiled in September last year and is named after the band’s hit 1974 single.

The vodka, which has been officially endorsed by Queen guitarist Brian May, has been produced through a partnership between distributor RnR Brew and Stolichnaya Vodka maker SPI Group.

With a message panel on each bottle, Asda claims Killer Queen is an ideal gifting vodka. It has been distilled seven times and filtered through quartz sand and birch charcoal before being bottled at 40% abv.

“Freddie loved vodka and used to carry a dry ice cooler full of vodka with him on tour,” said May.

“Killer Queen Vodka is the perfect tribute to Freddie and using Killer Queen as the brand name was the perfect choice for us, and we know Freddie would have approved.”
