Adnams unveils rebranding of Copper House Gin

UK distiller Adnams has revealed the new look bottle for Copper House Gin – its first spirit to be rebranded since the company began production less than five years ago.

Suffolk-based brewer and distiller, Adnams, appointed CookChick Design to revamp the bottle

The Suffolk-based brewer and distiller appointed CookChick Design to revamp the bottle, which now exhibits a screen-printed design representative of “the spirit’s coastal provenance, and the character of Adnams”.

The bottle also features a hand-drawn illustration of the distillery’s copper still and some of the gin’s botanical ingredients, to “convey the hand-crafted, artisanal nature” of the production process.

Lee Cook, of CookChick Design, said: “When we created the Copper House range of spirit labels five years ago, Adnams was entering quite a traditional market so our designs were rather reserved and smart.

“However, things have moved on hugely since then, and now that Adnams’ spirits are so firmly established, it’s time to portray more of the unique Adnams character of these small-batch spirits.

“One of the most important stories for us to get across is that each Adnams Copper House spirit is made from grain to glass.

“That’s an attribute that most distillers do not have – the ability to make a spirit from start to finish – from the locally-sourced malted grains all the way through to the finished products.”

In addition, the spirit will now be known as Copper House Dry Gin, to reflect its “fresh flavours and aromas”.

The gin has been produced in Adnams’ Copper House Distillery since November 2010 alongside Barley Vodka which is expected to showcase a new bottle design next month.

Adnams marketing director, Emma Hibbert, added: “The market for craft distilling continues to grow and develop and we felt it time to adapt our packaging to reflect these changes.

“The new design is not only fresher and more modern, it has superb standout on shelf and in bar.”

Adnams Copper House Dry Gin is available to buy now at £26.99 for 70cl.

Last month it was revealed that Adnams would be embarking on a £500,00 distillery expansion following the 37% volume growth of its spirits brands in 2014.
