Thieves make off with £12k of Scotch whisky

Thieves made off with £12,000 worth of Scotch whisky in a raid last weekThe thieves lifted three pallets storing 150 cases of Scotch malt whisky from The Bonded Warehouse at the Kelvin Industrial Estate in the early hours of Friday morning (14 November), reports the Daily Record.
Authorities said brands in the stolen whisky cases, which were meant for export only, include Caol Ila single malt, Nordicbarrel single malt and The Old Malt Cask single malt.
PC Matt McCabe described the crime as a “callous theft that has affected people’s livelihoods before Christmas” and said the perpetrators must have had access to a large van to remove the whisky from the premises.
Police are urging anyone with information to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
In June this year, more than £10,000 worth of rare Glenglassaugh was stolen from the brand’s visitors’ centre in Aberdeenshire.
