Hennessy VS receives redesign for Christmas

Hennessy Cognac has partnered with design agency ButterflyCannon to give its VS expression a “more playful” packaging redesign in the run-up to Christmas.

Two versions of the Hennessy VS gift packs will be made available, one containing two Hennessy Cognac glasses, which will be launched globally, and another containing a miniature bottle of Hennessy Black that will only be available to purchase in the US.

The design has been created in order to “maintain the core” of Hennessy while “embellishing” the design with gold sparkle, holly, stars and “emblematic” vines.

“It was essential that we maintained the recognition of the packaging identity as it had only recently been launched, however we also wanted to give the packaging a bit more exuberance and party attitude,” commented Jon Davies, creative director at ButterflyCannon.

“The untying of the bow to release the holly and sparkles seemed like the perfect metaphor for this festive fun.”

Last week, it was revealed Hennessy Cognac worked collaborated with British art director and designed Peter Saville to launch a new limited edition bottles as part of its VSOP Privilege Collector’s series in the US.
