Home alcohol vaporising system launches

A new machine that turns alcohol into vapour, allowing consumers to inhale spirits, wine or beer at home, has launched in the US.

Vapshot Mini – a home alcohol vaporising system – has been launched in the US

Part of the Vapshot line of alcohol vaporising products, the Vapshot Mini has been designed for home use, or to take to parties.

The vapour created by the machine can be consumed through a straw, while the effects of the alcohol are said to take effect at a quicker rate.

“Vapshot Mini is fast, fun and versatile. You can create a vapour only shot, a shot of liquor with a vapour shot, or even a full mix drink with a vapour shot,” the company said.

“Vapshot Mini is small and portable so it’s is ready to hit the road when you are. Use it by your pool, on your boat or even when you’re camping. Vapshot mini will get your party started anytime, anywhere, instantly.”

The company also describes its product as offering “the most aromatic and sensational drinking experience you’ll ever have”.

Vapshot instantly vaporises alcohol that can then be served either as a shot or a mixed drink.

While the company claims its products are completely safe, and is legal in all 50 US states as well as worldwide, the Daily Mail reports that experts have warned “inhaled” alcohols are “far riskier” than traditional drinks.

The newspaper said that since vapourized alcohol is ingested directly through the bloodstream and to the lungs, experts believe could result in “potentially dangerous” levels of intoxication.

However, Vapshot claims it is the “first and only laboratory tested vapour system for spirits” and that it is not a “system for constant delivery of vapours”.

The white version of Vapshot Mini carries an RRP of US$699, while the stainless steel version is priced US$899.

A commercial variation of the machine is designed for high volume consumption and can produce 720 shots per hour.
