Brockmans Gin to launch in the US

Brockmans Gin is to begin distributing in the US following a successful New York blind taste test.

Brockmans Gin will initially launch in New Jersey and Boston

The British gin brand owned by Ginuine, will launch in New Jersey and Boston in both the on- and off-trade after a one-off sampling event resulted in 63% of consumers naming Brockmans their favourite over two other popular brands.

“One was the imported market leader in the USA whilst the other was a popular modern gin brand,” said Bob Fowkes, Ginuine marketing director.

Brockmans, whose botanicals include Bulgarian coriander and Valencia oranges, reported UK year-on-year sales growth of 40% in 2013, against 32% sales growth in Spain.

Ginuine’s Chief Executive, Neil Everitt, added: “Whereas most British gin drinkers enjoy gin & tonic, Americans often enjoy gin straight up, on the rocks or mixed as a Martini. Brockmans Gin lends itself to all these serves as its unique flavour profile, with soft, rounded berry notes is delicious alone or served with traditional mixers.

“We envisage this will be a popular off-trade brand, to enjoy at home and with friends as well as being embraced by sophisticated bars, restaurants and hotels as it has been in Britain and Spain.”

The US launch comes in the same week as the brand launches its sponsored art film A Night Like No Other.
