Cocktail served with human toe tops Google
A drink served with an amputated toe has ranked at the top of Google’s cocktail searches in Canada, new data shows.
The Sourtoe Cocktail is Google’s most search for cocktail in Canada
Google Canada’s 13th annual Year End Zeitgeist has revealed that the most searched cocktail in Canada this year was the Sourtoe Cocktail.
The list reveals the year’s top Google searches among Canadians, described as offering a “uniquely Canadian perspective on the year’s major events and hottest trends”.
As reported in The Spirits Business earlier this year, the Downtown Hotel bar in Dawson City, Canada, was seeking donations of amputated toes after a patron purposefully swallowed one that was served as a garnish with the bar’s staple Sourtoe Cocktail.
Canadian Google-users were found to be particularly interested in this ghoulish drink, searching for it more than any other cocktail.
Topping the list of Canada’s top trending searches for 2013 was disgraced Toronto Mayor Rob Ford – whose scandalous situation Iceberg Vodka was accused of taking advantage of last month.
