Patrón tops limited edition Tequila with dagger
By Becky PaskinPatrón Tequila is to release a limited edition of its Patrón Anejo with a dagger for the bottle stopper.
The Patrón Anejo collaboration with David Yurman features a gold-hilted dagger as a stopper
The limited edition bottle is being released as part of a collaboration with jewellery design house David Yurman, and features an eye-catching gun metal and 24-carat gold dagger handle in place of Patrón’s signature cork ball stopper.
The dagger, designed by Evan Yurman, chief design director and son of company founders David and Sybil Yurman, is inspired by the swords carried by 18th century Japanese Samurai guards, reflecting Evan Yurman’s love of weaponry.
Patrón claims the dagger is the result of a shared commitment to “understanding luxury, meticulous craftsmanship and masculine elegance”.
“Throughout time, armour and weapons have represented the highest artistic and technical ability of the artisans who craft them,” Evan Yurman said. “For me, there is an inseperable parallel between a finely honed weapon and a beautifully crafted piece of jewellery – they are truly one in the same and a natural extension of the work that inspires me.”
The bottle will be released in “very limited quantities” across select markets in the US in November, with 500 available to Patrón Social Club members over the coming weeks. It will carry an RRP of US$54.99.
