Focusing on how the art of preparing the perfect cocktail has developed over time, The Curious Bartender features a selection of classic cocktail recipes and explores their roots in history.
Stephenson then redevelops each recipe in his laboratory, giving them a contemporary twist and some flair for which he is renowned for.
While Fluid Movement, the bar consultancy co-founded by Stephenson, is known for creating extravagant cocktails using intrinsic and often scientific techniques, The Curious Bartender includes a reference section detailing various techniques, ingredients and equipment needed to create the cocktails featured in the book.
Stephenson’s first tome also includes an eye-opening introduction to the science of flavour, as well as a flavour map for classic cocktails.
