Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve Gin gets US launch

Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve, the oak aged “sipping gin” created to redefine the gin category, has now launched in the US following a roll out in the UK and Spain earlier this year.

Produced in small batches at the Kennington, London distillery’s Still Number 12, Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve undergoes a rare oak finishing process in Jean de Lillet barrels that imparts subtle wood characteristics to the gin.

Described as complex with a long finish, the 43% abv gin carries notes of citrus and juniper – signature flavours of Beefeater – before finishing with a gentle spice.

Master distiller Desmond Payne said Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve is designed to celebrate the distillery’s heritage and pay tribute to the brand’s founder, James Burrough.

“I had been interested in resting gin for a while and knew that if the cask was right, we could make a really exciting new gin that changed people’s perceptions of the spirit,” he said. “I felt that the use of oak casks and Still Number 12 would introduce a new character to the gin, elevating it to a place that had not been explored before.”

Burrough’s Reserve is now available in the on- and off-trade across the US at an RRP of US$70 per 700ml bottle.

It is the first permanent addition to the Beefeater portfolio since Beefeater 24 in 2008.
