Laphroaig An Cuan Mór completes travel retail trio

Maxxium Travel Retail has completed its exclusive line-up of Laphroaig single malt whiskies in travel retail with the launch this month of Laphroaig An Cuan Mór.

Laphroaig An Cuan Mor completes the brand’s line-up in travel retail

Meaning “the big ocean” in Gaelic, Laphroaig An Cuan Mór has been aged in 18-year-old ex-Bourbon barrels before a second maturation in European oak casks before being bottled at 48% abv.

Brand owner Beam Inc describes the Islay single malt as offering flavours of “spicy caramel” and “burnt apricot and raisin” with “distinctive peat flavours”.

The launch follows those of Laphroaig QA Cask in April, and Laphroaig PX Cask in 2012 to complete the brand’s exclusive offering in European travel retail.

“Travel retail is an excellent environment to reach audiences on a global scale and encourage trial of innovative exclusive products,” said Anthony Kime, EMEA travel retail business manager for Beam.

“The first two Laphroaig expressions PX Cask and QA Cask are already a resounding hit with both retailers and consumers. With MTR’s strong retail partnerships and solid presence across travel retail, An Cuan Mór is set to emulate this success  and drive sales of the brand even further.”

The complete range is now available through World Duty Free Group, Aelia and Heinemann stores. Laphroaig An Cuan Mór will be available for €95 for a 700ml bottle.
