Jim Beam Maple makes debut in US

Beam Inc is following up the success of its Jim Beam Honey and Red Stag flavoured whiskeys with the launch of Jim Beam Maple this month.

Jim Beam Maple is being rolled out across the US this month

The Kentucky Straight Bourbon has been “infused with natural flavours” to create a sweet maple whiskey bottled at 35% abv.

Beam claims to create the whiskey using  “an infusion process that rounds out the edges”, giving the liquid a “warming maple and light caramel finish”.

The variant, which follows on from Jim Beam Honey that was first launched with great success in the US in 2012, and Red Stag in 2009, will be made available across the States from September 2013.

Jim Beam Maple will be available in 750ml bottles at an RRP of US$15.99, and is recommended to be served chilled, on the rocks or in cocktails.

Sales of flavoured whiskey have been soaring in large Bourbon markets such as the US, UK, Germany and Australia over the last 12 months. According to the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), over 40% of all spirits in the US have an additional flavoured extension, with over 220 flavours now available.

Sales of Jim Beam grew 4% in H1 2013, driven largely by the brand’s flavoured innovations and Devil’s Cut expression.
