CEDC appoints president for Poland

Vodka producers Central European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) has sought to increase its Eastern European presence by appointing a new president for Poland.

The appointment comes two months after previously cash-strapped CEDC was acquired by Russian Standard

Monzer Elabrashy, who has previously held senior positions at Coca-Cola, Red Bull and Henkel, will be responsible for the vodka producer’s overall business in Poland.

Grant Winterton, chief executive officer of CEDC, said: “We are delighted to welcome Monzer to CEDC. His domestic and international experience is well-suited for our Polish business, and we are confident that he will lead the company successfully in Poland.”

The news of this appointment comes soon after Beam cancelled a distribution deal with CEDC in Poland to sign a new agreement with Stock Spirits Group (SSG).

CEDC – whose portfolio includes Bols, Green Mark and Royal Vodka – was acquired by Russian Standard Corporation in June after filing for bankruptcy in the US.
