Bacardi chief marketing officer quits

Bacardi has announced its chief marketing officer Silvia Lagnado is to leave the company to “pursue other interests”.

In a statement, the Bermuda-based company said Lagnado would leave her role as chief marketing officer and President of Bacardi Global Brands over the next few months.

“We thank Silvia for her contributions and dedication to the Company and wish her every success,” says Ed Shirley, President and CEO of Bacardi Limited.

Bacardi said a replacement will be announced in due course.

Meanwhile, Bacardi has also announced its new senior global rum category director.

Dmitry “Dima” Ivanov has been promoted internally from his position as managing director of Bacardi in Russia. In his new role he will be responsible for developing the company’s global marketing vision and positioning of the Bacardi portfolio of rums, as well as developing the global strategy to drive the portfolio forward.

“Dima brings a special passion to the BACARDÍ rum brand and the organization as a whole with his industry knowledge and an entrepreneurial leadership style that delivered growth in one of the industry’s hottest emerging markets. He understands how to manage premier brands and is the kind of engaging and inspiring executive that will take the Bacardi brand to a new level of excellence,” said Shirley.
