Tabasco challenges UK to find Best Bloody Mary

Everyone believes their Bloody Mary recipe is the best, and now British bartenders are being asked to prove it in the 2012 Tabasco British Bloody Mary Challenge.

Those interested in stepping up to the challenge could be in with a chance of winning a trip to New Orleans for the 2013 Tales of the Cocktail.

Bartenders need to submit their favourite Bloody Mary recipes – which must contain Tabasco Pepper Sauce – by email to laura@foodmatters.co.uk by 9 November. The judges will then create a shortlist of entrants to compete in the challenge at Bar Americain at Brasserie Zedel in London on 20 November.

On the day itself, bartenders will need to create both a Classic Bloody Mary, in which judges will be looking for a balance of flavours and exceptional presentation, plus an Alternative Bloody Mary, where they can demonstrate their creative flair.

The winners of each category will both win a trip to New Orleans.
