Diageo names new North America president

Diageo has appointed Deirdre Mahlan, current chief financial officer, to take over as the new president, Diageo North America.

Deirdre Mahlan will replace Larry Schwartz as president Diageo North America when he retires

The announcement follows the recent news that Larry Schwartz will retire as president North America by the end of 2015.

A replacement for Mahlan’s chief financial officer position expected to be announced shortly.

“Diageo North America is a strong business and we are determined to deliver on that strength,” commented Ivan Menezes, chief executive.

“Today we announced a number of organisational changes in Diageo North America and I am delighted that we can also announce that Deirdre will be leading this change.

“Deirdre has been an exceptional CFO and has the skills, together with experience of the market, to lead the next stage of growth in North America.”
