As part of Ardbeg Day on 31 May, participants from 150 countries will play on peaty mud pitches and vie to win the Ardbeg Peat Football trophy.

In the UK, each “Ardbeg Embassy” will have a team who will battle it out in a secret football site in Edinburgh.

The winning team will represent Ardbeg UK in the “swamp football championships”.

Mickey Heads, Ardbeg distillery manager, said: “Every year we welcome hundreds of fans from all over the world to the distillery on Ardbeg Day. This year we’re taking Ardbeg Peat Football to the world, with parties from Taipei to San Francisco to London.”
