Hampden Estate debuts its oldest rum at 15YO
Jamaican rum producer Hampden Estate has added a 15-year-old expression to its permanent range, making it the distillery’s oldest offering to date.

The newest addition to Hampden Estate’s core range is crafted exclusively in traditional copper double retort pot stills.
The distillation process is said to capture Hampden’s high-ester signature profile and ‘vibrant aromatic intensity’. Distilled to an ester level of 200g–400g per hectolitre of pure alcohol, the spirit revives a historic mark that was first created in 1952.
Aged for 15 years in ex-Bourbon casks in the tropics, the maturation process is said to play a key role in the rum’s character.
Matured entirely in Jamaica’s hot and humid climate, more than 75% of the spirit is lost to the angel’s share. This intense and rapid ageing concentrates esters and enhances complexity.
Hampden Fifteen presents aromas of citrus oils, marmalade, and tropical fruits such as ripe mango and papaya. The palate reveals layers of cinnamon and clove, floral notes, dried fruits, ginger spice, liquorice, grilled pineapple, and bitter chocolate.
Offered at 50% ABV, the rum was created for sipping or pouring over ice.
The 15-year-old rum joins the brand’s core range, which includes Hampden Estate 1753, an eight-year-old expression, and HLCF Classic.
Hampden Fifteen is now available in the UK through Speciality Brands and select retailers, with a recommended retail price of £370 (US$494) for a 700ml bottle.
Last month, the drinks agency introduced Starward’s Lagavulin cask-finished single malt to the UK market.
Hampden Estate 1753 rum was named The Whisky Exchange’s Spirit of the Year 2026.
