Don Julio unveils 1942 Fifa World Cup bottle
Diageo-owned Don Julio Tequila has created a limited edition bottle of 1942 inspired by the Fifa World Cup trophy.

The bottle, which will be available from April, is said to embody ‘the spirit of victory, pride, and elevated celebration’. It is luminous gold like the World Cup trophy and crowned with a malachite closure.
Fans can join the waitlist to purchase the bottle at The Bar, Diageo’s digital platform.
Diageo is the official spirits supporter of the football tournament, which kicks off in June. Games will take place across North America in the US, Canada and Mexico.
Many of Diageo’s core spirits brands will feature throughout the tournament with ‘fan-focused’ activations, on-the-ground initiatives and retail campaigns.

The Don Julio 1942 bottle is supported by an advert starring football legends Roberto Carlos and Thierry Henry.
In the film, the pair play keep-ups around a glamorous ocean-front house where Don Julio’s 1942 World Cup bottle is spied in both full and miniature form. They also take a moment in a home cinema to appreciate one of Carlos’s past goals.
The advert closes with a shot of the 1942 bottle beside the real World Cup trophy.
Stillz, the director of the official teaser and commercials for Bad Bunny’s recent Super Bowl halftime show, directed the film.
You can watch the film, titled ‘La Otra Copa’, below.
Don Julio recently unveiled a limited edition horse-themed bottle of 1942 in celebration of Chinese New Year and 2026’s zodiac animal, the fire horse.
The brand’s sales were down by 14% for the first half of Diageo’s 2026 fiscal year.
