IAADFS calls on industry to rally against cancer
By Miona MadsenThe International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and GO2 for Lung Cancer will host a five-kilometre run/walk as part of a global KickCancerThon initiative on 14 March.

The Hollywood 5K Walk/Run and Kite Fly captures the essence of KickCancerThon, established by the travel retail news publication The Moodie Davitt Report, and inspired by its chief operating officer Sinead Moodie.
Moodie’s personal journey fighting aggressive lung cancer and her passing on 1 February 2026 have motivated the industry to come together to stand against the disease.
The charity event aims to raise awareness and provide support for cancer research and patient care through IAADFS’ partnership with GO2 for Lung Cancer.
Since the announcement of the fundraiser, more than 100 participants from seven organised teams have committed, with new participants being added regularly.
According to the IAADFS, the global travel retail industry is “recognised for its energy, resilience, and, above all, its remarkable sense of community.” The association urges everyone to channel that spirit into action.
IAADFS invites everyone – from competitive runners, casual walkers, or kite-flying enthusiasts – to participate in the Hollywood 5K Walk/Run and Kite Fly on Saturday 14 March, at Hollywood North Beach Park, located at 3601 North Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida.
The event will feature a five km run/walk, a ‘kids’ dash’, music, and kite flying.
Registration will begin at 7am EST, and the run/walk will start at 8am EST. People can join ‘Team Sinead’ on the IAADFS website or start their own company team to raise funds for the cause.
Anyone unable to attend the event can participate virtually from anywhere in the world as part of the global KickCancerThon.
The 2026 Summit of the Americas, hosted by IAADFS, will take place from 28-31 March in Orlando, Florida.
