Archie Rose unveils first age statement whisky
Sydney-based Archie Rose Distillery has launched the third batch of its Single Cask Series, featuring a six-year-old single malt.
Archie Rose Single Cask Series Batch No.3 features a trio of rare single malt whiskies, hand-selected from more than 35,000 casks: Toasted Amber, a trade-exclusive single malt, and its first-ever age statement expression, Six-Year-Old.
Following the successful launch of the series last year, Batch No.3 is said to represent the pinnacle of the distillery’s whisky-making programme, with each cask ‘selected to highlight its depth, character, and craftsmanship’.
The main release is the Six-Year-Old, a unique single cask whisky matured for more than six years in an Australian apera fortified wine cask.
Bottled at 50% ABV, the release offers tasting notes of dark chocolate-covered figs, raspberry jam, and pecan pie, along with a palate featuring maple syrup, French pastries, and delicate floral aromas.

“Hand-selected from thousands of barrels as a superior expression of our whisky making, it highlights the character created by exceptional Australian-grown malts and maturation in an Australian fortified wine cask over time.”
Archie Rose Single Cask Series Batch No.3 Six-Year-Old is priced at AUS$349.99 (US$249).
Toasted Amber Single Malt is distilled from toasted amber malt and aged in an American oak ex-Bourbon cask.
Offered at 54% ABV, the expression features aromas of passionfruit, cookies and cream ice cream, and jelly beans. On the palate, it reveals layers of pineapple, cinnamon muffins, and Maltesers.
The Toasted Amber Single Malt has a recommended retail price of AUS$279.99 (US$199).
The third expression in the series is an unspecified single malt whisky, available exclusively for the hospitality trade.
Last year, Archie Rose Distilling Co released an experimental Smoked Cask Series, including a whisky aged in barrels smoked with cinnamon and a Wattleseed Smoked Cask Single Malt.
