JP Wiser’s and Canada Dry create Whisky & Ginger RTD

Two Canadian brands, JP Wiser’s and Canada Dry, have teamed up to launch a ready-to-drink (RTD) whisky and ginger ale.

The pre-mixed RTD combines Canada Dry’s ginger ale with JP Wiser’s Canadian whisky and is canned at 7% ABV.

Maura Cowan, vice-president of marketing at Corby Spirit and Wine, JP Wiser’s parent company, said: “Whisky and ginger ale have a long history of showing up wherever Canadians gather, from game night to everyday moments. That connection played a big role in how this partnership came to life.

“As we look to the future, this launch reflects a deliberate approach to evolving the JP Wiser’s brand. It’s about exploring new innovations and occasions while remaining anchored in the values, quality, and standards that have defined it for generations.”

The cocktail is available nationwide in Canada and packaged in a 473ml single-serve can. It is also offered in four-packs in British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec.

The alliance between JP Wiser’s and Canada Dry will continue through the year as the two brands support the launch across retail and on-premise activations, as well as a digital and social media campaign that will celebrate Canadian moments and the pairing’s nostalgia.

High-profile sponsorships tied to major sporting and cultural events and a rotating series of immersive pop-up experiences and festival appearances are also planned.

Chris McMahon, vice-president, away-from home sales and ready-to-drink at Keurig Dr Pepper Canada, added: “If there’s one ginger ale Canadians trust with their whisky, it’s Canada Dry.

“This marks the first entry of our ginger ale into the ready-to-drink category, and partnering with JP Wiser’s, one of Canada’s most established and awarded whisky brands, made this pairing a natural evolution of Canada Dry.”

JP Wiser’s is considered to be one of the oldest continuously produced Canadian whiskies having been established in 1857. The brand joined Pernod Ricard’s portfolio in 2005 after the French firm took a majority stake in Corby Spirit and Wine.

Last year, Pernod poured CA$115m (US$82m) into its Hiram Walker Distillery in Windsor, Ontario, where JP Wiser’s is produced.

RTDs were a bright spot for Corby Spirit and Wine, Pernod Ricard’s Canadian affiliate, in its full-year sales for the year ending 30 June 2025.
