Beefeater Distillery’s visitor centre will become a ‘centre of expertise’ from January

Since October this year, Beefeater Distillery has ceased running guided tours at the site in London.

Pernod Ricard, owner of Beefeater Distillery, told The Spirits Business: “Since October 2025, we have informed our visitors that we are no longer running guided tours at the Beefeater Distillery.

“We are transforming our brand home into a centre of expertise, where we train enthusiasts and professionals to become the best ambassadors of our knowledge and expertise.

“Therefore, as of 1 January 2026, the Beefeater Distillery will no longer be open to the public.

“The distillery’s shop, where guests can explore our self-guided gin exhibition, enjoy tasting boards and cocktails, and purchase Beefeater gins and gifts, will remain open until the end of December.

“This change will not affect our operations, and the ‘world’s most awarded gin’ will continue to be produced on site at the very heart of London, just as it has since 1958.”

The Spirits Business asked Pernod Ricard to clarify if the development will result in job losses. The French group said it could not comment further on this. However, earlier this year, Pernod Ricard confirmed it was restructuring the business, which has resulted in reduced staff numbers.

Beefeater Distillery opened its multi-million-pound visitor centre in 2014 – the first of its kind in the UK capital.

When Pernod Ricard announced its full-year financial results for the 12 months up to 30 June 2025, the figures showed sales of Beefeater Gin grew by 3% over the 12-month period.

The gin maker has introduced several new products this year, including citrus-inspired Beefeater Grapefruit, recommended as an ‘ideal addition’ to a Paloma cocktail.

The brand’s first non-alcoholic option, Beefeater 0.0, arrived in the UK in September.

In May this year, Pernod Ricard’s vice-president of marketing for global gin expressed how the company is handling a category entering its next phase, and why flavoured gin is here to stay.
