Desi Daru’s Alphonso Mango Vodka is now available nationwide from Waitrose, starting from 9 November.

For Mohit Singh, co-founder of Desi Daru, the listing is not only a professional win but a personal dream come true, as he explained: “We had certain milestones in mind when we first started the business, and one of our biggest goals was to see our bottle on the shelves of Waitrose.

“We set out to create a vodka that celebrates our dual heritage, inspired in India, born in Britain, and to see it now sitting alongside some of the world’s best-known spirits is incredibly special. We hope Waitrose customers love it just as much as we do.”

Desi Daru was founded in May 2023 by the British-born Indian couple, Singh and Aneet Kaur, who envisioned a brand that would represent their diverse cultural backgrounds.

Produced in Oxfordshire, Desi Daru’s vodkas are crafted using English winter wheat and are distilled seven times.

The brand’s mango vodka is made using Alphonso mangoes from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. These ‘king of mangoes’ are prized for their distinctive sweetness.

John Vine, spirits buyer at Waitrose, highlights the brand’s industry accolades and consumer appeal: “Desi Daru have received incredible international acclaim for their Alphonso Mango Vodka, even winning the coveted three-star Great Taste award.

“We know that our shoppers are always looking for quality, and it’s undeniable that Desi Daru is a quality brand. They are leading the way when it comes to premiumisation in flavoured vodka. We can’t wait to introduce our customers to Desi Daru’s Alphonso Mango Vodka.”

Available now at Waitrose locations nationwide, Desi Daru Alphonso Mango Vodka retails for £39.50 (US$52), with a special launch offer of £33 (US$43) until 1 January 2026.

The listing follows a milestone year for the brand, marked by a B Corp certification, ‘record-breaking’ sales growth, and the introduction of its ‘One Sip, One Day’ initiative.

The initiative ensures that every 25ml of Desi Daru Vodka provides clean drinking water for one person for an entire day. A whole bottle can supply enough water for an entire month.
