Thomas Henry taps into tiny serves at BCB

German mixer brand Thomas Henry is hoping tiny serves will make a big impact at its Highball Hub at Bar Convent Berlin (BCB) next week, as it celebrates its 15th anniversary.

The Thomas Henry Highball Hub will be at the Exhibition Centre Berlin at PEG-27 from 6-8 October during the annual BCB trade event.

The tonic and mixer brand has invited 18 renowned bartenders to craft a selection of signature Highballs and aperitivo-style serves throughout the event.

However, new to this year will be the size of the serves at the Highball Hub. All the guest bartenders’ creations will be served as tiny Highballs in 160ml glasses, giving guests the opportunity to try several of the 18 signature Highballs and apéritifs throughout the show.

Guest bartenders will include the team from Handshake Speakeasy in Mexico City, currently ranked as the world’s best bar.

The award-winning Wax On Bar in Berlin will also be behind the stick, as will Mirror Bar from Bratislava, The Schwarzes-Schaf from Bamberg, Barro Negro from Athens, The Rumah from Rotterdam, and Alma from Prague.

Adjacent to the Thomas Henry hub, Miguel Fajardo, brand ambassador for Undone and Thomas Henry from Spain, and Pierre-Andre Rousseau, from the Piña Bar in Ibiza, will be serving alcohol-free drinks at the Undone Bar.

And, for the first time, the Espresso Latte Martini will be on the menu, made using the new Undone No.6 Espresso Apéritif, ‘This is Not Coffee Liqueur’.

After-show party returns

The annual Thomas Henry after-show party on the Monday evening will also be making its return, powered by The Spirits Business.

This year, which marks 15 years of Thomas Henry, the brand will be welcoming guests from around the world to Maaya (formerly Haubentaucher) for the ‘biggest BCB party in town’.

Tickets will be available only on Monday at the Thomas Henry stand. The party will start at 8pm.

Earlier this year, SB explored how small, sip-sized serves were gaining traction and making a big splash in the on-trade.
