Desi Daru features at Sushisamba
By Miona MadsenBritish-Indian vodka brand Desi Daru has been featured in a Mojito-style serve on the new cocktail menu of Sushisamba in London.

Rooted in the founders’ dual heritage, Desi Daru brings Indian and British flair to its vodka, while Sushisamba embodies a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian culture and cuisine.
Reflecting both Desi Daru and Sushisamba’s fusions of cultural heritage, the Mango Grove cocktail has been introduced as a vibrant addition to the restaurant’s new cocktail menu.
Mohit Singh, founder of Desi Daru, said: “We never tire of seeing our spirits brought to life by incredible bartenders, they are so creative, and the flavour combinations and drink styles that we’ve tried are beyond what we could ever imagine.
“It’s especially special when we’re stocked in iconic venues like Sushisamba. This cocktail is the perfect way to kick off a delicious meal. It captures the elegance of our vodka and the mango is uplifted with beautiful citrus and mint flavours, like a tropical, refined Mojito.”
Now available at the restaurant’s London venues, the Mango Grove cocktail was created by Sushisamba’s assistant bar manager, Alexandra Gömöri-Carrillo.
The serve blends Desi Daru Alphonso Mango Vodka with a homemade mint wine – made in-house from white wine, fresh mint, citric acid, and sugar – and lime juice.
Gömöri-Carrillo explained the creative process behind the cocktail: “We wanted to create a drink that was as refreshing as it was flavourful, and the Mango Grove does just that. It’s the perfect way to start a meal at Sushisamba – a tropical twist to get your taste buds excited. We are very proud to be shaking things up with Desi Daru Vodka.”
The listing is the latest win for the vodka brand, which has gained traction across UK restaurants and cocktail bars, including Michelin-starred contemporary Indian restaurant BiBi, and London’s Stables Bar.
Desi Daru has also gathered industry accolades across the board, including the title of Vodka Brand of The Year at The Spirits Business Awards 2024.
In November, the brand will host its 2025 Culture Colliders cocktail competition finals at The Churchill Bar and Terrace in Marylebone, London.
