As the new president of Wild Common, which specialises in Tequila and mezcal, Axelrod will lead the company’s strategic decisions to achieve results.

Axelrod said: “After watching Wild Common’s incredible growth over the past few years, I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team. I admire their commitment to creating standout Tequila and valuing transparency in their ingredients.

“In this next phase, I’ll focus on expanding into new markets, growing the team with best-in-class talent, and continuing to scale the platform and product innovation.”

Axelrod has served as the US director and partner of Proper No. Twelve, and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

He is the co-founder of Eric LeGrand Bourbon and SipMargs, as well as the founding partner of Chica~Chida peanut butter agave spirit.

Before Proper No Twelve, he served as the brand director for D’Ussé Cognac and spent more than six years as the commercial director for Champagne Armand de Brignac, alongside Jay-Z and Desiree Perez.

Wild Common was established in 2021 by Andy Bardon to create Tequila and mezcal made in Jalisco, Mexico, that honour tradition while appealing to the modern consumer.

Bardon commented on the new appointment: “As our company matures, we are thrilled to bring on Brian Axelrod as Wild Common’s first-ever president.

“Landing talent of his calibre signals Wild Common’s readiness to compete at the highest levels as we pursue our mission to become one of the most respected craft agave spirits brands in the world. This addition of experienced leadership positions Wild Common for sustained growth through disciplined execution.”

Last year, Wild Common raised US$5 million through a Series A funding round from HIPstr to expand its distribution and team.
