TWE unveils single cask Glenallachie and Nc’nean
London-based spirits retailer The Whisky Exchange (TWE) has released two exclusive single cask single malts for August.

The two new releases are part of the retailer’s monthly exclusive bottlings.
Previous releases this year have included a Havana Club single cask rum in July and a 23-year-old Jameson Irish whiskey in May.
For August, the retailer has released an 18-year-old, 2007 vintage single malt from Glenallachie Distillery, and a 2017 vintage Nc’nean.
The Glenallachie was aged in a new American oak cask, resulting in orange cake, gingerbread, dark chocolate, red chilli, and fruit notes on the palate.
The 18-year-old is limited to 272 bottles at 59.1% ABV and retails for £180 (US$239).

Distilled at Nc’nean Distillery on the west coast of Scotland, the second limited release was matured for seven years: initially in Bourbon casks and finished in an ex-Calvados apple brandy cask from France.
The single malt was bottled as part of the distillery’s Aon collection, dedicated to ‘hand-picked single casks of unique character’, in this case, exclusively for TWE. The whisky displays notes of white chocolate, apple sauce, crunchy pears, and white peppery spice.
Nc’nean 2017 ex-Calvados cask is offered at 60.2% ABV, limited to 348 bottles, and is priced at £94.95 (US$126).
In June this year, TWE announced the appointment of former Berry Bros & Rudd executive Natalie Tennent as its new managing director.
