Young’s reveals strangest Christmas lost property
British hospitality group Young’s Pubs and Geronimo Inns has revealed the most bizarre items left behind during last year’s Christmas party season – including a prosthetic leg and a stuffed otter.
The survey from more than 170 venues found the everyday bank cards, mobile phones and keys were the most often forgotten post-Christmas party, but some more surprising items also made the list.
Among the more curious leftovers discovered by pub staff were a pair of fluffy pink handcuffs, Christmas themed underwear, a set of false teeth and a large sex toy.
Staff at the Hollywood Arms in Chelsea even discovered a pet dog inadvertently left behind by a regular.
“We see this dog in the pub fairly often, he’s always by his owner’s side,” said Giovanni Pilla, pub manager at the Hollywood Arms.
“While the owner was indulging in one or two festive tipples, Benson found a spot under the booths and fell asleep and only reappeared when staff were cleaning – he was given a bed for the night and reunited with his owner the next day.”

- Gift-wrapped Victoria’s Secret underwear

- An £8,000 professional camera
- A new men’s suit
- A pair of fluffy pink handcuffs
- A signed copy of Paul Daniel’s autobiography
- A stuffed otter
- A child’s pram
- Christmas-themed underwear
- A pink diamante computer mouse
- A dog
- Christmas jumpers
- A singing turkey hat
- A Mulberry handbag
- A flamingo-shaped beer funnel
In the spirit of festive forgetfulness, the hospitality group is running a #Misleighed social media competition. To be in a chance to win a £500 bar tab, participants must tweet or Instagram the most embarrassing or funny thing they have left behind or found after a Christmas party using the #Misleighed hashtag.
