Botivo creates aperitivo with Ottolenghi
By Georgie CollinsApéritif-inspired brand Botivo has teamed up with Yotam Ottolenghi to create a limited edition non-alcoholic botanical aperitivo inspired by the bold, vibrant Middle Eastern flavours that define his restaurants.

The new limited edition botanical aperitivo by Botivo is described as perfect for long lunches, dinner parties, and cocktails among friends.
The liquid was developed by Botivo co-founder Sam Paget Steavenson in close collaboration with the chef and the Ottolenghi bar team. The result is described as a one-of-a-kind aperitivo that captures the creative essence of both brands.
Imme Ermgassen, co-founder of Botivo, says: “Ottolenghi is the brand every foodie wants to collaborate with, so working with Yotam and his team to bring this to life has been a dream. We’re both brands that celebrate flavour, feasting, and the highest-quality ingredients – it’s the perfect match.”
This non-alcoholic aperitivo is said to bring together Ottolenghi’s favourite aromatics with Botivo’s bittersweet botanicals.
Yotam Ottolenghi said: “I first tried Botivo at a kids’ birthday party, of all places, It only took one sip! That perfect bittersweet union that makes an aperitivo so satisfying before a meal.
“When we started working on our own version with Botivo, we went straight for the flavours I love most: black lime, pomegranate molasses, a touch of rose. It’s been my go-to after a long day – just ice, soda, and a wheel of lime. I can’t wait to see how people make it their own.”
The liquid offers flavours of pomegranate molasses, a gentle sourness of black, warming cardamom, and bright, floral notes of rose.
The complex serve is recommend enjoyed over ice with soda water and a lime wheel as a garnish, or for something different, a splash of vermouth makes for an enjoyable low-alcohol option, while the addition of gin provides something stronger.
To celebrate the launch, Ottolenghi restaurants Rovi and Nopi will be serving bespoke cocktails featuring the aperitivo.
The Botivo x Ottolenghi Botanical Aperitivo is now available from all Ottolenghi delis, and online at both www.botivodrinks.com and www.ottolenghi.co.uk for £32 (US$40) per bottle. Each 500ml bottle provides 20 serves.
Botivo previously teamed up with London retailer Berry Bros & Rudd to launch an expression aged in Islay casks.
