Crown Royal unveils rum-finished Marquis
By Miona MadsenDiageo-owned Canadian whisky brand Crown Royal has released the Marquis blend, which has been finished in Caribbean rum casks.

The new blended Canadian whisky will be available in select states in the US, inviting consumers to connect with ‘Crown Royal Marquis Moments.’
Hadley Schafer, vice president of Crown Royal, said: “Crown Royal Marquis is a very special innovation for the brand, one that truly brings to life our goal of creating exceptional whiskies for every occasion.
“Its layered flavours and strikingly unique bottle were crafted with everyday royalty in mind, so consumers over 21 years can enjoy a spirit that makes a delicious cocktail and represents that inviting energy we want to see again in nightlife culture.”
Marquis will pop up at Washington DC and Atlanta’s ‘most high-energy’ events to celebrate the launch, inviting consumers to reignite nightlife over elevated cocktails.
Finished in Caribbean rum casks, Marquis offers notes of honey, brown sugar, and vanilla with dates and figs on the finish.
It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or with pineapple juice, lime, and soda for one of the brand’s signature cocktails.
The whisky is presented in a purple-hued bottle, with an ABV of 40%.
Crown Royal Marquis will available from this month in Georgia, Maryland, Washington DC, and select military bases where spirits-based beverages are sold, for a suggested retail price of US$39.99.
Last year, the Canadian whisky brand expanded its portfolio with the launch of its first single malt and its oldest expression to date, a 31-year-old whisky.
In November, Crown Royal reimagined its Reserve blend as a 12-year-old.
