Copenhagen Distillery unveils Singapore edition

The urban distillery reportedly generates over half of its international sales in Asia.
Recognising the market’s appetite for exported whiskies, the Danish distillery has created a special bottling exclusively for Singapore, limited to only 68 bottles. To respect Asian culture, the release excludes the number four.
Lasse Öznek, master distiller at Copenhagen Distillery, explained: “We first arrived in Singapore in the summer of 2024, and since then, our sales in this market have grown significantly. Our audience in Singapore is seeking something new, and the Asian market as a whole is dedicating more time to whisky.
“There is a deep appreciation and understanding of the technicalities behind modern spirits, with a strong connection to whiskies that push boundaries – values that are at the heart of Copenhagen Distillery.”
Part of the distillery’s ‘Rare’ range, the single malt was finished in a Hungarian oak cask and seasoned for three years with ruby Port wine.
The Singapore Edition is bottled at 56% ABV and available exclusively at Takashimaya department stores in Singapore for S$480 (US$366).
Each bottle has been filled, wax sealed, labelled and signed by hand.
Öznek added: “This whisky is a reflection of the desires of Singapore’s consumers, which we’ve come to understand first-hand. They seek out spirits that challenge convention and move beyond traditional methods – complex, thoughtful, and truly one of a kind. With a deep respect for the art of whisky, this audience inspired us to craft a flavour profile we felt was missing in the Singapore market.”
Last week, Copenhagen Distillery was one of 10 Danish distilleries that joined forces to set out whisky standards that could help the nation secure formal regulations in the future.
Last month, eight Nordic distilleries formed The Nordic Whisky Collaboration to elevate the identity and recognition of the countries’ whiskies globally.
