Hermitage Cognac hosts tasting at Hide
By Miona MadsenIndependently owned Hermitage Cognac held an exclusive tasting for guests at Michelin-starred restaurant Hide in London.

The afternoon event marked the conclusion of a competition, inviting one winner and their guest to a private tasting of Hermitage Cognac’s rare offerings.
The event delved into the legacy of the Cognac producer and its founder, David Baker, who has been unearthing and preserving some of the rarest aged Cognacs since 1990 when the brand was established.
Guests were guided through a carefully curated selection of spirits, starting with the Hermitage 50-year-old Grande Champagne Cognac, followed by the Hermitage Siècle d’Or 100-year-old Cognac, said to be the oldest barrel-aged Cognac of its kind.
The experience aimed to provide the guests with an in-depth understanding of the art of Cognac tasting, helping them identify the complex aromas and flavours that characterise vintage and aged Cognacs.
The event was accompanied by a five-course tasting menu curated by Hide.
Designed to delight the palate, the menu enhanced the flavour profiles of wine and Cognac, providing a Michelin-starred dining experience.
The event concluded with tasting the rare and complex Hermitage 1888 Paradis Cognac.
Oscar Kinberg, group bar manager at Hide, commented: “As always, it’s great to host Hermitage Cognac for tasting events at Hide. They never cease to impress with the outstanding quality of the liquid. Their passion for sharing knowledge and insight to the category is contagious, and there is never a dull moment with their hosts.”
