Siete Leguas Tequila expands European footprint
By Miona MadsenFamily-owned Tequila brand Siete Leguas is expanding its presence in Europe after partnering with Stockholm-based distributor AliasSmith.

The collaboration with AliasSmith, which specialises in Mexican spirits, aims to strengthen the brand’s availability in key European markets, catering to the growing demand for high-quality, artisanal Tequila.
Claes Puebla Smith, CEO of AliasSmith, said: “We are honoured to welcome Siete Leguas to our portfolio. As one of the most respected Tequila producers in Mexico, their dedication to craftsmanship and tradition aligns perfectly with our mission to bring the best of Mexico to Europe.”
Siete Leguas was established in 1952 by Ignacio González Vargas and his wife, María Amparo De Anda Franco.
The distillery and brand were named after the horse of Mexican revolutionary general Pancho Villa.
The name translates to ‘seven leagues’, a distance of 42 miles, the amount a man could travel by horse in one day.
Now in its third generation, the brand continues its global expansion under Juan Fernando González, director of new projects.
González commented: “This partnership with AliasSmith is an exciting opportunity to share our heritage with a wider European audience. With the growing interest in premium agave spirits, AliasSmith’s expertise will help us reach new consumers while preserving the authenticity and legacy of Siete Leguas.”
Siete Leguas will be featured at ProWein 2025 from 16-18 March at AliasSmith’s stand L12 in the Pro Spirits Hall 5.
At ProWein, the distributor will also launch its partnership with Celosa Rosé Tequila.
Last month, AliasSmith announced the rebranding of The Romantic Agave Company-owned Beso de Agave premium agave concentrate.
