Kilchoman unveils 13YO limited release
By Miona MadsenIslay-based Kilchoman Distillery has released a limited edition 13-year-old single malt.

The new expression follows the distillery’s release of a 16-year-old whisky in 2023, which was the first age statement expression from Kilchoman.
The 13-year-old single malt is aged in a combination of Bourbon barrels and octaves, as well as Calvados casks.
Bottled at 50% ABV, the whisky displays aromas of fresh pineapple, hibiscus, and lemon sherbet, joined on the palate by dried apple granola, caramelised puffed wheat, buttered popcorn, and peat smoke notes.
Anthony Wills, founder of Kilchoman Distillery, said: “After the overwhelming response to our 16-year-old, I’m excited to announce the release of another age statement Kilchoman: the 13-year-old.
“The ex-Bourbon casks make up a large part of the vatting, lending that unmistakable Kilchoman character, while the addition of Calvados casks, which may surprise a few people, infuses vibrant green apple and fresh fruit notes into the mix.
“Although our older stocks remain limited, we’re excited to share a variety of aged expressions with you over the next few years.”
Officially launched on 26 February, the release will be available across Europe from the first week of March 2025, retailing at around £89 (US$112) for a 700ml bottle.
Kilchoman Distillery was established in 2005 and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
In 2022, the distillery secured a £22.5 million (US$30.4m) funding package from Barclays to expand its site and grow the brand globally.
The following year, the Scotch whisky distiller announced it had gained planning permission for a rum distillery in Barbados.
