Lalique Group-owned The Glenturret Distillery has released a limited edition 18-year-old single malt to commemorate the Gleneagles hotel’s centenary.

The exclusive release is limited to 600 bottles retailing at the Gleneagles hotel for £350

The release continues the two establishments’ long-lasting collaboration and celebrates ‘100 years of history, elegance, and enduring charm at the Perthshire estate’.

Crafted in collaboration with The Glenturret’s whisky maker, Bob Dalgarno, the exclusive 18-year-old release is limited to 600 hand-numbered bottles and boasts an ABV of 46.5%.

The Glenturret Gleneagles Centenary offers ‘warm ginger, cinnamon and spice aromas, complemented by sun-ripened summer fruits, caramelised sugar and dried fruits’. The palate displays notes of ‘ripe red berries, reminiscent of a summer harvest, with velvety vanilla ice cream’.

The release is available at the hotel Retail Arcade’s The Still Room, which features more than 200 whiskies.

Each 700ml bottle of the commemorative whisky is priced at £350 (US$455) and includes a complimentary tour of The Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest distillery, established in 1763.

Daniel Baernreuther, general manager at Gleneagles, reflects on the significance of the collaboration, stating: “This limited edition release is a tribute to the vibrant history and cherished moments that define Gleneagles. It encapsulates the warmth and adventure of Perthshire, inviting whisky enthusiasts to share in our rich heritage.

“The partnership with The Glenturret Distillery celebrates our mutual commitment to craftsmanship and excellence, combining centuries of tradition with innovative spirit-making. It’s a testament to our enduring dedication to offering our guests the finest experiences and products that embody the essence of Scotland’s renowned hospitality and unparalleled natural beauty.”

Only a small number of bottles will be sold to the public via a ballot, while the rest will be released exclusively to hotel residents.

The Gleneagles hotel was established in 1924, just a few miles away from Glenturret.

Earlier this year, The Glenturret Distillery revealed its 2024 core range collection and launched a gin brand, The Aberturret, coinciding with the opening of Aberturret Estate House.
